Intervention Project Management (IPM) Ltd was formed early in 2007 to play a strategic role in providing independent Engineering Project Management and Consultancy Services to client companies operating in the Oil and Gas Industry both domestically and internationally.
Incorporated in the UK and based in Aberdeen, IPM is a dynamic and growing company formed by two engineers who collectively have over 30 years oil and gas experience.
Intervention Project Management specialises in delivering superior intervention and production enhancement services in a safe, cost effective and efficient manner, and aligning in a consistent and transparent manner with all clients, maintaining impeccable trust and integrity.
By utilising the in-depth operational and project management experience gained in senior well engineering positions within major oil companies, IPM are committed to entering into working partnerships and not just contracts, with the firm focus being to provide the best possible independent solutions to a wide range of intervention operations, irrespective of size, and at any stage on a 'best for project' basis.

Phil Milton - Managing Director
Phil has over 15 years experience in the oil and gas industry. Beginning his Offshore career in 1991 working in the Wellservices sector for several major Oil and Gas companies including Shell, BP, BG, Conoco and Kerr McGee. During the time offshore extensive experience was gained in a wide range of intervention activities from Slickline and E-Line Operations to Coil Tubing Interventions, Hydraulic Workovers and numerous rig based workovers and completions.
In 1999, the move onshore was made working as a Consultant Wellservices Engineer for Kerr McGee. During this time spent working for Kerr McGee Phil was a part of the project team working on the abandonment of the 32 wells on the Hutton Tension Leg Platform. On completion of this project Phil was a co-author of the SPE paper detailing its highly successful outcome which was presented in Amsterdam.
During the Abandonment project on the TLP Phil also worked closely with Schlumberger to assist in their development of the then pioneering slickline deployed E-Fire Detonation System, for which he was presented with a Schlumberger Bronze Award.
Phil then moved to Shell working as part of the Completion Design Engineering team, working with the Hydraulic Workover Unit which was deployed to various Shell installations to workover a variety of different types of wells.
Upon completion of his contract with Shell, Phil gained a new contract with CNR International in their newly created role of Lead Technical Liaison for Interventions. This role involved working with both the Production and Reservoir departments looking at proposed interventions, and assisting with the screening, planning, preparation and selection of equipment to enable these to be executed successfully, and within budget constraints.
Drew Duncan - Operations Director
Drew has over 15 years experience in the oil and gas industry, his time offshore was spent working in the Wellservices sector working for Wellserv and Weatherford. Drew worked offshore for a total of 11 years, during this time he worked for a number of major Oil and Gas Companies including BP, Shell, Conoco, BG, Kerr McGee and CNR International. During his time offshore, he gained extensive operational experience of a wide range of intervention activities on platforms, semi-submersible drilling rigs and jack-ups. These ranged from Slickline operations to Coil Tubing Interventions, Hydraulic Workover Operations and a variety of rig based workovers and completions.
Drew was involved in the offshore execution of the Abandonment Operations on the Hutton Tension Leg Platform, he was responsible for co-ordinating all the 1st stage Reservoir Abandonment Operations and worked closely with the Drilling representatives during the subsequent completion recovery and final phases of the abandonment process.
In 2004, Drew moved onshore to work for CNR International in the role of Onshore Wellservices Supervisor. The main focus of the role being the planning, costing and onshore supervision of all Wireline, E-Line, Coiled Tubing and Pumping interventions on each of their North Sea Platforms, with the adherence to Safety and Budget being the primary objectives.
